GOES

Interactive

Satellite data from GOES-16 can be accessed interactively on the CLASS homepage by following these steps:

- Register for an account by clicking "register" at the top of the page

- You will be asked to edit a series of "user preferences" asking how you would like your data among other things.

- From the drop down menu directly beneath the title banner, select a product to search for (e.g. - GRABIPRD)
- Click "GO"
- You will see a page detailing the data with spatial and temporal conditioning text boxes - order matters!

- The default Start/End times are 00:00:00 and 23:59:59, respectively
(e.g. - Spatial: 40.5 (top), -106.5 (left), -105.5 (right), 39.5 (bottom)
Temporal: Start Date: 2018-08-15 End Date: 2018-08-16)

- Go to "Advanced Search" next and select the following:

- Product Type: FDC
- Satellite: G16
- ABI Scan Sector: CONUS

- Select "Search" (Important: do not select "Quick search and order" as this will return a large amount of unwanted and potentially big data)

- You will be redirected to a Search Results page with information on number of hits

- To add files to your cart (which has a 500 file limit):

- Select the checkbox next to desired data file(s)
- Click the "Update" button at the top of the page
- Click "Goto Cart" when you're ready to place your order

- Check the notification email address listed on the Shopping Cart page, before clicking "Place Order"

Orders will be delivered 24-48 hours after placement, due to the systems retrieval process.

Please see this tutorial for more detail and a visual description of the CLASS interface.
